We take an active, holistic approach to living in faith and supporting our community.
Vision:
THE VISION is to restore women reentering society from prison, jail, and rehab. It has all the resources they need, beginning with basic needs, such as food, clothes, and shelter. There are meetings; 12-step, bible based, and life skills bridging them to self- sufficiency. Depending on the individual skill set, some may go right into the work-force; some may need on-the job training, or education. This holistic approach will help them transition back into society. We have two homes and see tiny homes, maybe duplexes for the continuum of care. There is no place for women to go in Seminole County. They end up in the revolving door cycle. Many displaced women need a second chance to be productive in the lives of their children and community members. We are believing God for a miracle. The “Finding Their Way Home,” community will be for his Army of women. We are partnering with our community to serve these women. We are taking the stepping stones God has laid in front of us to attain the vision. We look forward to partnering with you on this journey.
How we got started:
ANGELS OF MERCY MINISTRIES, INC was founded by Aura Lynn. She was given a vision by God while in prison in 2011. She had a horrible auto accident in 2008 and was sentenced to prison for four years, losing everything: her family, career, home, heirlooms, and self-dignity. This was the hardest, but best thing that ever happened in her life. She was given tools to change her thinking. While in prison she was met with the face of Jesus through many volunteers. God woke her early one morning and told her to make it plain on a tablet. Habbakuk 2:2, “And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” She drew out this vision of a transition home for women. She came home in 2012 and, with the help of many, has been restored. She has been clean and sober since 2008, and active in her recovery. They say you can’t keep it if you don’t give it away. Her goal is to pass this restoration to many. Thus, we have created Angels of Mercy Ministries, Inc., a non-for-profit corporation, 501c3.
