Our Team

Aura Lynn-Rouse

Founder/CEO

Bio

Aura Lynn-Rouse, Founder/CEO, is a remarkable leader with a deeply personal understanding of overcoming adversity. In 2008, a tragic accident resulted in a four-year prison sentence, giving Aura firsthand experience with the immense struggles of reentry. Her journey of reinvention, fueled by education and 12-step programs, led to her restoration—reuniting her with her family, rebuilding her career, and reclaiming her dignity, all made possible with the support of others.

In sobriety since 2008, Aura’s passion is to uplift and empower other women. She has had a profound impact, having mentored, advised, counseled, sponsored, and financially supported countless homeless women and ex-offenders since her release. Aura’s commitment is evident in her two transitional homes, which provide a safe haven for up to 22 women. She also has the privilege of bringing life skills and recovery to the incarcerated. Additionally, she operates “Angels Second Chance Boutique,” a unique space that offers more than just clothing; it’s a place where many find hot meals, free apparel, and crucial support when they can’t afford basic necessities. Aura’s life is a powerful testament to the possibility of restoration, and her mission is to freely share the transformative tools she has gained.

Julie Mantooth

Treasurer

Bio

Firstly, let me say, I am so happy to be a part of Angels of Mercy and thank Aura and her staff for such an amazing opportunity. I pray my time and talents can assist the organization as well as all the amazing women it assists.

I decided to leave the field of law as a certified paralegal for over 25 years and I entered the world of nonprofit as finance/office manager for Recovery House of Central Florida, Inc. Recovery House of Central Florida, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that assists men who are dealing with addiction issues by providing housing, employment, education, and support.

I have learned that addiction shows no bias – whether it be age, race, or social strata. But at the very core of an addict’s being – they are a mother, father, sister, or brother. Everyone deserves a second chance.

In my spare time, I enjoy life as a daughter, sister, mother of one (Hilton) and grandmother of two (Rahkwan and Jaxon)! I enjoy yoga, gardening, word games and time with friends.
